Tour Plan

Day 01 Starting Departure:Diani/Mombasa Beach Hotel to Tsavo West National Park

Around 05:00 – 05:30Hrs

The safari begins with a pick-up at your beach hotel or resort. We’ll take the scenic Mombasa – Nairobi Highway, viewing farmlands and Kenya countryside along the way.

The journey includes several stops to stretch and get refreshments.

You’ll enjoy the landscape of Tsavo West almost as much as the wildlife. Here you’ll go on game drives over rolling hills and grassy savannah, passing volcanic lava beds and rich oases. Besides the big game, look for the smaller treasures like bush baby, lesser kudu and dik-dik.

After lunch, we’ll journey over to a special site in the park – the 90 sq. km rhino sanctuary. This protected enclosure holds over 80 of the endangered, nocturnal creatures. If we’re lucky, we’ll spot one of the immense but shy rhinos.

Overnight

Our safari evening will be spent here at your choice of safari lodge or tented camp. What you may see at Tsavo west national park.

Day 02 Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park/Kilimanjaro

(100 km – Approx. 2.5 hrs.)

We’ll be up early to explore two national parks today!

One of the gems of Tsavo West is a spring-fed oasis called Mzima Springs. Mzima means “life” in Swahili, and here we will find many forms of life in these nourishing waters – hippo, crocodile, exotic fish, and birds.

We’ll explore the shaded banks of the springs on foot and take in other wildlife like zebra and giraffe that are drawn here.

Our final game drive will take us to the park’s borders and a relatively short trip to Amboseli Park to the south.

You may be able to track your journey to the park as the great form of Mt. Kilimanjaro appears on the horizon. This largest peak in Africa is the grand backdrop to Amboseli and presents a majestic presence, framing the reserve’s wildlife. So be sure to have your camera ready.

We will have a relaxed afternoon watching wildlife. The park’s small size and sparse foliage will make game spotting easier. But it will be impossible to miss the immense elephants here. Amboseli is known to be the best spot in Africa to see free-ranging herds marching before you with their proudly held tusks.

Toward evening, the cloud cover masking Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak may drift away revealing one of Africa’s greatest treasures.

Overnight

Tonight, you’ll stay in the park at the accommodation of your choice. What you may see at Amboseli National Park

Day 03 Relax Amboseli National Park Full Day

We’ll be up for a pre-breakfast game drive to catch the first stirrings and enjoy the filtered light of early morning. After a big safari breakfast at your accommodation, we’ll set out for a relaxed mid-morning drive.

This entire day will be spent on game drives, enjoying the Amboseli diversity of wildlife. But there will also be time to relax as well. Just let us know how active… or relaxing you’d like your day to be.

Lunch follows, as does an afternoon safari. We’ll pass by or through the park’s 5 wildlife environments: wetlands, savannah, woodlands, thorn-bush and dry lakebed, ensuring us a variety of sights and animals.

Between drives, you can relax and enjoy other activities such as an optional visit to the local Maasai village to meet the people and learn about their distinctive herding culture.

Overnight

We’ll enjoy a second night here in the park.

Day 04 Amboseli National Park To Tsavo East National Park

(260 km – Approx. 4 hrs.)

We’ll be up early and if we’re lucky, a clear view of Kilimanjaro’s dazzling summit will greet us with the dawn. After a pre-breakfast game drive, we’ll eat and then exit the park.

Back on the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, we’ll travel to Kenya’s largest park, Tsavo East. The terrain here is vast, rugged, and distinguished by its red-oxide soil. The elephants like to roll in it and you’ll be entertained by their fashion show of a new red-dusted coating.

We’ll break to freshen up and enjoy lunch at our accommodation.

The afternoon will be an easy mix of game drives, stops to enjoy the African plains, and soon the African sunset.

Your driver/guide is always available for any questions you may have or special requests.

Overnight

This is our last safari night, and we’ll relax at our lodge or tented camp

Day 05 End Tour Tsavo East National Par to Diani/Mombasa Beach Hotels

It’s our last safari day, so we’ll be up early to make the most of our time. We’re sure to visit the watering holes at Mudanda Rock and Aruba Dam. This is where hordes of wildlife visit to drink from the essential waters.

We’ll enjoy breakfast and then explore some more. The park’s sparse foliage and broad plains lend themselves to rich game viewing.

Lunch will be served at an open-air restaurant with large vistas of the park and surrounding area.

Drop off.

This is a good time to relax and perhaps reminisce about your adventure and the many sights you’ve collected over the days of your safari.

By late afternoon or early evening, we will have you back at your resort or hotel.
