Pickup Nairobi Airport | Nairobi Hotel |

Safari Overview

The sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilomtere long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East.

From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out of from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness.

Tour Plan

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Nairobi airport.

We’ll head out in our 4 x 4 Jeep for Tsavo East on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway also known as the early explorer’s route.

Safari

We’ll arrive at Tsavo’s gate where the immense sweep of the park’s great expanse will fill our horizon. Take a break if you’d like but then we’ll fire up the 4 x 4 and head off on our first game drive.

This is big savannah country and we’ll be looking for lions and the great elephants that populate these red-dust plains. Punctuating the arid sweep of the park, it’s refreshing watering holes are a natural draw for the reserve’s thirsty inhabitants.

We may visit Aruba Dam and Mudanda Rock to watch the elephants and lesser creatures gather for sustenance at these watering spots.

We’ll enjoy lunch and then jump into the 4 x 4 for more afternoon game drives. Throughout your safari, your driver/guide is your expert advisor on all manner of wildlife and the wondrous scenes of nature before you.

Overnight

You’ll spend your first safari night at Tsavo East at the lodge or tented camp of your choice.

Welcome to safari life where we rise before the sun to watch the park come alive and head out on our first game drive. The park is peaceful at this time of day, and we’ll be listening and looking for the first signs of emerging wildlife.

We’ll enjoy breakfast at our accommodation and take one more game drive as we depart for Tsavo West.

This next park is pleasing to the eye with its scenic hills and valleys, oases, and surprises like ancient baobab trees.

There’s plenty of the big game here like lion and rhino. We’ll proceed to the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary which harbors over 80 of these fascinating creatures

Overnight

We’ll spend our second safari night at Tsavo West at your choice of lodge or tented camp

We’ll keep up with the birdsong and ready for the sights the natural world will bring us in this new dawning day.

An early game drive brings us into the first rays of sunlight as it lights up the savannah and the park’s awakening inhabitants.

Let’s head over to one of Tsavo West’s treasures, Mzima Springs, a rich, green oasis. In this lush setting, we’ll find hippo, crocodile, exotic fish, and birds. We can walk here, under the palm-fringed shores and take in the park’s other wildlife, attracted to these life-giving waters.

Overnight

We’ll spend the first of two nights at Amboseli at your safari lodge or tented camp.

We have prepared a full day of game drives at Amboseli to see the big game, especially the elephants.

The park is famous for being the best spot in Africa to spot the great herds as they march family-style to their favorite watering holes. See how many you can count.

Observation Hill is a wonderful vantage point to observe the wildlife in the marshes below, like buffalo, hippo, pelican, and other waterfowl.

Along with your many game drives you can take advantage of an optional visit we offer to a nearby Masai Village. Meet the tribes people and learn about their lifestyle up close. Your driver/guide can make all the arrangements.

Now it’s time to take the short trip to Amboseli Park.

Just look for the sky-scraping peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro as our beacon to the park.

We’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch and perhaps some free time at our accommodation before heading out to discover the wilds of Amboseli.
